The National Honor Society in Psychology, Psi Chi was founded on September 4, 1929 at the ninth international congress of psychology on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Conneticut.

Psi Chi is affiliated with the American Psychological Association and the American Psychology Society. Psi Chi is also a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.

Psi Chi provides a forum for obtaining information about and developing perspectives in the science of psychology. A membership in Psi Chi provides tenable evidence of superior scholorship suitable for inclusion in resumes and on applications for graduate programs.

Psi Chi actively promotes professional development by offering opportunities to participate in Regional and National meetings and to network with professionals in various fields of Psychology.

Each year Psi Chi publishes a National journal dedicated to undergraduate and graduate research. Membership in Psi Chi is recognized by the U.S. Civil Service as meeting one of the requirements for entrance at the GS-7 level of employment.

Our Chapter

The Texas Christian University chapter of Psi Chi was chartered on September 28, 1956. The TCU Psi Chi Chapter offers an ongoing series of programs featuring speakers representing all branches of Psychology. The TCU chapter also sponsors many social activities throughout the academic year to promote fellowship. Some of the activities of the TCU Psi Chi Chapter include fundrasing events, community service projects and the annual Psi Chi Convention that is hosted by the chapter every spring. Finally, the TCU Psi Chi Chapter gives it's members an opportunity to interact with the graduate students and faculty in the department by sponsoring two graduate school forums in the fall semester.
